Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Notes
by
One of my favorite portions of Thanksgiving has always been the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. With that in mind, here are a few notes and highlights for this year’s parade – the 87th edition of the parade:
- For up-to-the-minute information, bookmark the parade’s home page!
- The parade begins at 9am (US EST) at the corner of 77th Street and Central Park West and will be on your local NBC TV station
- The parade concludes at Noon (US EST) after traveling 2.5 miles through NYC
- Among this year’s list of performers, I’m most intrigued to see Joan Jett’s attempted comeback (?!)
- Every year a few floats catch my attention – I didn’t recall seeing a Sea World float in the past when reviewing this year’s entries. Naturally, when I searched for the history, I found that this will be the first year and there is controversy around it from PETA. Moving on, quickly …
Do you try to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade each year? If so, what is your favorite part?
