Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Preview
Despite the fact that Macy’s will open its retail stores’ doors on Thanksgiving Day, their Thanksgiving Day Parade still deserves our attention. Here is a preview of the iconic event, which has been going strong for 88 years now!
The map below outlines the route of this year’s parade – beginning at 77th Street and Central Park West at 9am EST. For two and a half miles, participants will march the streets of New York City and finish the parade around Noon in front of Macy’s Herald Square.
This year’s musical performers include: rock band KISS, Nick Jonas, Hilary Duff, and many, many more. Are you or your kids interested in seeing what balloons will be at this year’s parade? We have the regulars in Spiderman, Snoopy and more, while the newcomer will be Eruptor from Skylanders.
Naturally, anyone will be able to watch the parade live on NBC (and elsewhere on local stations). For those that are interested in attending the parade live, Timeout.com put together these tips for visitors.
What is your favorite part of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade? Tell us your favorite Thanksgiving stories and if interested, you can be featured here on SaveThanksgiving.net! Don’t forget to follow the hashtag #MacysParade across social media and look for, at the very least, a few updates from us during the parade itself.
